More Details On The AT&T Motorola FlipOut

We recently reported the AT&T version of the Motorola Flipout going under the name “Chindi” with AT&T branding and now a lot more details have come to light about this unique device along with a new color. The guys over at Android Central have received some more in depth information with some new images. It looks like this device is still headed for AT&T and hopefully soon we’ll have a date for you all. So lets get started shall we?

- The phone runs the updated version of Motoblur 1.5 — but it’s not what you find on the Droid X and Droid 2.
- The operating system is Android 2.1 (update1, we presume).
- Widgets are resizeable, like on the Droid X and Droid 2.
- There are filtering options for your social networks, so you’re not completely deluged with information.
- The 2.8-inch screen (at the old-school 320×240 resolution) is described as “garbage” with a low, low 120 pixels per inch. (Hey, it’s not mean to be high-end.)
- That said, the body of the phone and build quality are said to be top-notch, which is no surprise for Motorola. We may not like the design, but, dammit, they can certainly build things well.
- Benchmarks: 26FPS on nenamark, 444 on quadrant, 5.8MFlops on linpack, but it’s topping out on gears and 2dfps at 30FPS.
- The phone is pretty speedy, with its OMAP processor running at 720MHz and PowerVR SGX 530 GPU.
- This is AT&T we’re talking about, so there is no app sideloading, but like the Backflip and Aria and Captivate, you can use ADB or the Android Sideload Wonder Machine to install the .apk files.
- Google Navigation is in, and Google is the default search,
unlike on the Backflip. Yahoo is the homepage, but that is changed easily
enough.

Motorola Kobe MB520 Spotted by Blurrycam

The Motorola Kobe MB520 has slithered itself in the way of Mr. Blurrycam, which has produced several images of the device. Now being rumored as being called the “AT&T Diablo,” this Motorola device is running Android 2.1 and as you can see in the image above, it shows an enhanced Motoblur launcher as well as the new lockscreen found on the Motorola Droid X and Droid 2. This is said to be a midrange device and the blurrycam tipster stated that this device should expect Android 2.2 to come OTA. With a name like “Diablo” it must be a hot device, right?

If you are one of the lucky ones to receive the OTA update, you are then advised to head to the Motorola Support Forums and report everything you experience with the update. The Changelog and features are in the following language specific links: English and French. Hopefully there are still plenty of downloads left.
